In order to develop good hygiene habits, you have to remain consistent and practice them routinely. Here are five useful tips on how to properly use a toilet:
* Wipe from front to back
Prevent UTI’s and other infections by wiping the correct way. This is the most important tip for toilet hygiene. Wiping the wrong way can increase your risk of infection.
* Wipe the seat before use
This is especially important when you are out and have to use a public toilet. It’s impossible to know how clean or germ infested a public toilet is. Carry sanitary wipes with you so you can protect yourself by wiping the seat before you use the toilet.
* Close the lid before flushing
Prevent germs from spreading by flushing the toilet with the lid closed. All those particles can become airborne, meaning you can breathe them in, or they can sit on other surfaces in the bathroom.
* Always flush when you’re done.
Forgetting to flush the toilet can be a problem for other members of your household. Take that extra five seconds and flush the toilet once you’re done and then check that the toilet’s been left in a hygienic state.
